Today is Friday of essence, at the beginning of this weekend and I bring you these photographs where you can see the Caroní River in greater presence of the series, that mystical river and well known in my city, also for being the source of water and electricity for the entire population. In almost any part of the city we can find the river, as I usually say Ciudad Guayana is like the Manhattan of Venezuela, because if we look at a map we can see that it is almost like an island surrounded by the Caroní and Orinoco rivers, therefore there are many bridge connections between various places.
My objective for these photographs was to create that contrast between the subjects that are people with the river, as well as the first photograph where we see a person taking a bath and all its context is the river, which I also liked the fact of being able to have captured the waves of the water generated by the same person when he moved, that was also partly what motivated me to take this photograph. While the other photograph where there is a person in the river I wanted to do it in black and white, and you can see a fisherman in his own work.
While the other photographs are far from the theme of the river, they are part of this series along the same path I take where I always try to capture elements where there are colors, contrast and a bit of those usual shapes perfect for creating and composing.
All the photographs are my own.
