Ciudad Bolívar, the capital of the state of Bolívar - Venezuela, is one of the most important cities in the east of the country, both for its long history and also for its contribution to trade and of course tourism. This city is partly located by the great Orinoco River, the same river where many European explorers were doing studies between the importance of its fauna and flora. Previously this city was known as Angostura, the name that currently has the bridge that connects the states of Bolívar and Anzoategui, one of the most important infrastructure that Venezuela has had.
Then this city is named Ciudad Bolívar because of Simón Bolívar, who is considered one of the most important heroes of Venezuela and all of America, although I also understand that there is another city of the same name in Colombia, a pious neighbor of Venezuela and that in a certain way they maintain a relationship due to their history and culture, in a certain way we are the same but divine because of that imaginary border.
Ciudad Bolívar as a city does not have that modern image, its architecture has remained the same for many decades. It is a city, as I would say, flat because it does not have many buildings and the few that it has are very low, but something that this city has that makes it very beautiful is its rich history and historic center, a place where you can appreciate the beauty of that architecture that has been there for hundreds of years, as well as that great view that you can have from the historic center towards various parts of the city and the presence of the great Orinoco River and the magnitude of the Angostura Bridge.
All of the above makes Ciudad Bolívar have its tourist attraction, for all those who are interested in appreciating this type of architecture and also in knowing something about the history of Venezuela, because from this point acts were decreed that made the independence of Venezuela possible, and who would have thought that from a town so isolated from the capital of Venezuela, such as Caracas, such important events for our history were conceived.
To be honest, from my point of view, Ciudad Bolívar is not a place that I like very much in one sense, but when I go to places like the historic center and its viewpoint, it makes me feel that sensation of great pleasure for this city. It is located more than 1 hour from the city of Puerto Ordaz, where I live. And between those two cities there is a great difference, such as Puerto Ordaz, the most modern city in the state, an industrial city, and on the other hand Ciudad Bolívar, the most cultural and historical city in the state, making them of greater contrast but still maintaining the same ties with its own society. Therefore, it is a city that I recommend to all readers of this media, as a place to visit at some point, you will be able to enjoy its beauty and those great views in contrast with nature.
