RE: What I Really Think of Steem - Truth Talk

in #freewrite5 years ago

Have to agree with pretty much all of this post. We're not ready for mainstream yet until we have a simple on boarding, better interfaces and an ease of use that anybody can start and not get lost. I also love STEEM and see the huge potential that it has and to be fair it is improving every year.

People seem to think that everything should be perfect straight away but for any new site or app it takes time and multiple versions to get it right. This is the building phase and it will take time to get it there. The only question is whether people will stick around long enough to see something special getting built. If they weren't so quick to attack others and to leave themselves it would be in a much healthier place as we try to move the chain forward.

Looking forward to an interesting 2020.

Yes, I agree with most of that.. there has never been a project that was perfect from day one. I mean look at facebook.. I remember what it looked like when it first started.. and steemit is leaps and bounds ahead of it visually, not even to mention steampeak etc which are even farther.. and that was what.. 10years ago? These things take time and are always evolving.

I will say that I think if we don't start promoting what we do have, and start building that base as well (not to mainstream of course), then we will be left behind.. as someone else will just build something and promote it better.

2020 should be a very interesting year for Steem.. lots of things rolling out that many have been waiting quite awhile for.

I think that this year will be the one where we see if STEEM can make it or not. Not that it has to be perfected this year but if there can be enough changes made to allow people to start using it in larger numbers and put the blocks in place that will push the platform forward in the next years.

If it can't be done in the next two then i see it fading away as better alternatives are brought out. The first two were wasted with empty promises from the development team whereas so much was accomplished this year when people put their minds to it. This is a good launching pad for STEEM and if those blocks are put in place we can start to push the marketing side of it next. For me there is no point in marketing until there is a usable product for everyday people but for an app like @splinterlands who have built the product it's now the time to get it in front of people which they are moving into next. That's the way to do it.
