Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday we had to get up super early because a technician was supposed to show up and repair the internet lines. Getting up early on a week end is no fun but at least we could see the sunrise behind the trees for once. With the snow, it was cool.
But the real activities started later in the afternoon in the yard. Sun, snow and cold weather (in the single Fahrenheit digit, probably around -15C), perfect combo!
Because it was really cold, I was a bit worried about Kaia's paws, very cold temperatures could hurt them. For her body, she was wearing Genepi's old winter vest. It's more for visibility really, but it does retain some of their body heat.
To test it out, we didn't go to the usual forest, we started in the small one behind the front yard first.
Kaia was struggling a bit with walking on this snow because of the crust on top. It's the result of what I was saying previously: wet snow, then rain, then very cold. But she still had fun chasing new scents.
This forest is not very big but we walked till the very end of it, it was a good warm up and a good test for Kaia who handled it with no problem.
I was planning to go for a second walk to our usual forest, but when I saw the sun low on the horizon, I couldn't resist and we went for a sunset walk.
At the snow-covered golf course, it was beautiful.
There were plenty more photos to snap, but my hands without gloves were getting dangerously close to frostbite, so after one last picture, we were on our way back home.
On the way back, we saw a big group of deer, at least half a dozen. They were running away for some reason, but this one didn't care, and just kept eating. It seems they have a thicker winter fur now, but I wonder how they deal with these temperatures.
And that was it for the day. At night, even though internet and TV are all fixed, we couldn't help but watching the last couple episodes of Orange is the new Black first season. I know it's an old series, but it was a good one in my opinion.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
